A few years ago, some members of my church and my family went up to New Hampshire on a week-long mission trip. Most of the time, my dad and I were helping to rebuild a church that had burned down about two years prior. Our church also helped with multiple homeless ministries in the area and some thrift stores serving those homeless people.
Working in these environments helped me to learn the value of hard work and dedication in multiple ways. While I was working to help rebuild the church, just seeing the amount of progress being made and the amount of relief and happiness on the faces of the church members inspired me to work harder each day. Also, in the later half of the week, working at the homeless ministries showed me the value of working hard throughout life to secure a good future for myself.
I hope and try to bring this attitude to school and I think that this experience has really shown me how to work in any situation.
