Both of my parents grew up in very religious parts of Illinois and Michigan. Therefore, their parents forced them to attend Sunday School as well as church on Wednesday nights. Due to this, my parents only had me go to Sunday School until around 3rd grade, then let me make the decision myself on whether or not to go. Currently, I do not attend church due to living in a household of different religious views.
My father says because he was forced to go to church his views on God and Christianity have lessened and he has developed viewpoints different than those of his parents or siblings. While my mother has still somewhat remained involved with her religious views growing up. However, this led me to make my own beliefs on the idea of God.
I do not want to get deep into my beliefs on religion since it is not a topic I discuss often, however, I challenge the ideas of the Bible and the stories it tells. I attended church recently to see if my viewpoints had changed from what I originally developed but, I saw no difference. To me, the stories told in the Bible seem somewhat outrageous.
