Assignment 5-Hampton Jefferson

I believe that television does provide a good form of entertainment. There are a multitude of shows that exist and there is basically something for everyone. From superhero shows like the Flash to dramas like Grey's Anatomy to comedy shows like Family Guy and everything in between, there is something for everybody. It is something that people can come home and enjoy after spending their day at school/work. I also think it is a convenient way for advertisers to spread their messages, but that doesn't automatically make it bad. Not all advertisements have to do with fast food or something else that makes our health worse. And finally, I do think television can be an inane use of time. It just depends on the time and setting in which someone is watching it. If someone is only watching television to put off homework or chores around the house then it is not good, however there are useful benefits to television. A lot of people get their news from the television while eating dinner at night, and it is also a useful way to stay updated on a current event. I think TV is a good form of entertainment, is a convenient way for advertisers to get out their message, and it can be, but isn't always, an inane use of time.
