Assignment 4 - Lydia Klumb

Ever since I was little, I've been told that the most important thing is school. I have to get the best grades, the best test scores, the best everything. While I don't completely disagree with this sentiment, I feel that it is slightly extreme. School is very important to me, but so are extracurriculars and volunteer work. I have struggled at times with balancing school and extracurriculars, sometimes sacrificing sleep in order to make sure everything gets done. As I get older, managing this time gets harder and harder, but I can improve my time management skills and learn from my mistakes.

Although I don't completely disagree with my parents views about school, I think that it is important to have a good balance of school and outside activities. It is okay to make a mistake, so long as you are able to learn from it and continue to gain new experiences. You don't have to always be the best at everything. Sometimes it is enough to try your best, even if it doesn't result in the best grades or best scores.
