My perfect playlist:
I love music however I don't normally get a lot of free time to listen to new songs. When I do find the perfect song, I kind of go crazy and listen to the song on repeat until I get tired of it. There is no rhyme or rhythm to the type of songs that I like, all I simply know is that they are catchy and make me happy.
Adele: "Rumor has it" - Every gotten your heart stomped on by a lousy cheating ex-boyfriend. Well me neither, but Adele has and she is not afraid to share her pain with the world. This is the type of song that you can listen to and enjoy without really understanding the meaning of it or when you actually start to dig you can see yourself in it a little bit. No, I don't have a vendetta against an ex but I do know what it feels like to be betrayed. The power Adele exerts in her music is contagious and just makes you want to go and tell the world who is boss.
Yesudas: "Suenena Suenena"- This is an old Hindi song that I was introduced to by my parents when I was little. It's about a young man who sings to his blind love about how blind sighted he is by her beauty and compassion. It doesn't matter if she can't see because his love for her is big enough to surmount all barriers. A beautiful song, wonderfully composed and sung with a passion that can't be compared to other modern singers. This song just resonates with me on a warm Sunday afternoon when all you want to do is lay down on a patch of grass and ponder on life. A peaceful and loving song, if you want to immediately feel happy I would highly recommend listening to it even if you can't understand what it is saying.
Fall out Boy: "Irresistible"- Want to feel pumped? Fall out boy has your back. There is no particular reason why I like this song. It's just fun to sing with your brother at the top of your lungs when no one else is home. Do I understand what the heck they are talking about? No. But is it fun? Heck yeah, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters. I have this on my playlist because it reminds me to have fun with life and just enjoy being crazy once in a while.
Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson: "Nothing Breaks like a Heart"- I have this song in my playlist because it's just so wacky but catchy. There is a particular line which I really enjoy and might be the real reason why I like this song so much and that is "This world can't hurt you, it cuts you deep and leaves a scar" It reminds me to take life easy and though there will be obstacles from time to time, it can never destroy me. For some reason when I am stressed this song helps me relax.
Sia" "Chandelier" - This song has been one of my favorites for many years. I just love the way Sia enunciates words almost as if she is giving them a new meaning completely. I added this song to my playlist because of how free it makes me feel.
