Assignment 1-Elena Andrews

My name is Elena Andrews. I’m 16, and I live with my mom, dad, and two brothers. I participate in archery, theater, Model UN, and DanceBlue at Henry Clay. Other hobbies include reading, volunteering at the Woodford Humane Society, and keeping up with current events. If you have any experience with the 16 Personalities test, I’m a Mediator, or INFP.

Now that I’ve covered the basics, let’s get into the more interesting stuff. My goals for this school year center around the idea of balance and achievement without overtaxing myself. I want to excel in everything I do and help others to excel as well. I enjoy writing, social studies, and science, and I want to use this year to improve my skills in those areas along with math, grammar, and working with people.

My summer this year was amazing, so it’d be tough for me to pick a favorite event. I qualified to shoot in the NASP Worlds International Tournament in early June, and traveled to Europe later that month, going abroad for the first time. I visited London, Paris, Rome, Sorrento, and Capri, and had the time of my life. I also traveled to Florida for a week in August with my family. The majority of my summer, however, I spent babysitting, which was by no means a downgrade. I had a weekday gig taking care of two girls and occasionally a cousin or two, and an on-and-off weekend job taking care of three other girls and their baby brother.

I’ve thought long and hard (and fought with my brothers) about the superpower I would want if I had the chance. I always end up rotating between three: flight, because I have a passing interest in aviation (and honestly, flying is just cool); talking to animals, because I enjoy zoology and conservation; and being able to speak any language, because that would enable me to travel anywhere.

As for what geeks me out, the list is very long. High on the list are the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel and DC comic universes, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. I also enjoy anything Disney and animated, sci-fi, and adventure movies, like the new Star Treks, Sharknados 1-5, and Indiana Jones. I watch mostly superhero TV shows and sketch comedy, like Supergirl, The Flash, Black Lightning, Krypton, SNL, Studio C, and Key and Peele. My favorite book is Ready Player One. I also enjoy historical fiction, especially anything to do with the Tudors, and dystopian novels.

Anyone who knows me knows I really like Kermit the Frog.
