Assignment 3 - Lydia Klumb

Ever since I was little, I have wanted to travel the world. I dreamt of visiting the Eiffel Tower in Paris, roaming the busy streets of London, and seeing the wildlife in Africa. I now realize that although this is still a dream of mine, it will likely stay a dream.
I have travelled to many places across the country, but have only been outside of the country once. Two summers ago, I had the privilege of visiting Mexico for a week. It was an amazing experience, leading to many new learning opportunities and allowing me to practice my Spanish-speaking skills. It was a week that I will never forget.
In Mexico we visited many places, including the ruins of Tulum. Through that visit, I was able to learn more about the history of Mexico and experience that history first hand and not just through pictures from a textbook. I usually am not very interested in history, however through this experience I was able to discover a way to learn about historical events that interested me. I learned that I am more likely to remember information better if I can physically see it, or if it is presented in a way that holds my attention.
I hope to be able to do similar trips to places like England, Africa, Australia, etc. so I can learn more about the history and culture of those areas.
