Assignment 3 - Tommy Svetich

Over my 16 1/2 years of life I have experienced, or been told about my experiences, traveling abroad but also staying inside the borders of the United States. As a very young child (1-3 years) I traveled to Switzerland, Italy, and England. However, due to my young age and undeveloped brain I only recall certain moments from those trips. My favorite, and possibly my first memory, was in Switzerland. My parents were checking into the hotel, and my curious and adventurous self decided to try my new toy, the elevator. I remember sitting in the elevator crying as I went up and down floors while my parents were searching the hotel looking for me.
I played travel soccer for many years which took my family and I on many adventures across the east United States. I traveled as far as St. Louis and Green Bay. Each trip I spent quality time with my teammates and family, while also learning the different cultures from different cities and states. Its amazing how different life is here in Lexington compared to life in Wisconsin or Illinois.
While I had the ability to remember, I have traveled outside the United States a couple times. My family and I have taken trips to Mexico, Canada, St. Croix, and the US territory Puerto Rico. Regarding Mexico and the beautiful islands, it shows how more developed our society is, while showing how much more fortunate we are to be able to get in our cars and go to work/school everyday.
