Assignment 4: Charlie Boone

Throughout my life, I have been told that working hard will always lead to success. My father always told me this as a kid whenever I felt defeated or inferior to another person. My mom has always relayed this life message to me when ever I feel like I can not accomplish my academic goals. And even my brother and sister preach the value of working hard to achieve goals set for yourself. But what if I fail? I often ask myself this question which leads to more uncertainty. It is the most difficult task to fail at something that you have been working hard towards, and brush yourself off and keep trying. Sometimes, I think that to accomplish some dreams I have are impossible. No matter how hard you work, you will not overcome certain obstacles. I did not make the regional pool of players in Kentucky's Olympic Development soccer program for three years. The fourth year, I made the pool despite contemplating not trying out.  Over time, I have come to learn that this is blasphemy. Perseverance and passion towards any area will always result in accomplishment.
