For at least the last two months, I have thought about college (or my future in some capacity) every day. I've gone on multiple college visits, applied to every program I can to better my college application, and done ample research about colleges across the country. All I've really gotten from this, though, is a general idea of what my future my hold. And stress.
I really would like to go to a college in the north, as I fell in love with that region a a young age. I would be okay with going to the west, too. Honestly, as long as I'm not in Kentucky, I feel like I'll be okay. I don't exactly have a major preference on the size of the college, as long as it's big enough to have decent student involvement and programs to benefit my education.
My dream colleges include Johns Hopkins University, University of Pennsylvania, American University, or Purdue University. They all have amazing programs in neuroscience and psychology, have great student activities, and provide so many programs for undergraduate research. All of these schools also provide great financial aide options. Even with these options, though, money is a huge consideration when I choose a college. College is overly expensive in my opinion (which is a completely different topic for another time), and is sadly going to have one of the biggest impacts on my final decision. For right now, though, it's fun to dream.
Overall, I don't have any specific reservations about college. I just want a good neuroscience program out of state. Obviously I want to get a useful education, but I also want to be able to have a social life and find a great group of people. Hopefully I don't end college with a lifetime of debt.
