Assignment 7- Bhoomi Shah
College is one of those things that is constantly on a high schooler's mind. It seems like everything you do determines your ability to get into a good school. Just the thought of applying to college is intimidating, for there is so much uncertainty in your decision and application. In spite of this, I am excited about the experience of going to college. The freedom, I never really thought I needed before, intrigues me. Everything about college from living in dorms to exploring new cities feels like a right of passage to adulthood. You become independent, but you are constantly surrounded by people you admire, which for me is very important. The ideal college for me is a small and well reputed liberal arts school that can offer me the competitive edge necessary to get into med school. I want to go to a college that really cares about me and the career pathway I want to follow. But that's not all I care about. I also want to go to a college that has a diverse campus and has programs that allow me to be engaged with the community. That's a lot to ask for and I'm aware that not everything can be perfect, but I want to get the most from my college and I want to be able to reflect on my college years as some of the best years of my life. My dream school currently is Centre college, but I definitely need to visit more colleges and make a final decision. In the end, I hope that from going to a good college I'm able to successfully find a job in my career field afterwards and start building a family.
