I am leagues away from deciding which colleges I want to apply to (like how I am hoping at least some of my peers feel, so that I don't seem odd). While I would like to stay in-state (I really can't imagine living anywhere but Kentucky), I'm pretty sure the most important factor is which colleges offer which majors and such.
I'd like to pursue English, but recent advice and some research as proven that it is a ridiculously difficult field to make any money in, even if you do have any talent. That said, I can foresee my interests changing before the time comes to pick colleges, as I wanted to be an architect in middle school (while I'd say I'm good at math and physics, I hate both with a burning passion). I'm also good at drawing, but I have even less of a chance getting anywhere there.
Once I somehow accomplish asserting myself as a responsible adult human being and move out of my parents' houses, I'd like to live college on the campus, in a dorm. My parents lived in an apartment together during their college time, and strongly urge me to soak up the college life better by not following their example (even without their advice, living on campus seems more fun, at least at first glance).
I am not especially excited about college. Right now, it's just another far-off step in my education process that I will eventually and inevitably complete to have just a chance at a successful life, and all the work it seems I have to do to prepare for it is already fairly intimidating. As of now, I'm just sitting at a computer, punching out this assignment for credit in your class, Mr. Logsdon, and afterwards it is incredibly likely that I'm going to hole up in my room and draw dinosaurs, which I'm becoming increasingly aware is something I cannot make a career out of, so I might want to enjoy it while I can.
