Assignment 10 - Oliver's previously thought-out and absurdly detailed zombie apocalypse plan

Now, this is the kind of assignment I can get behind.

I have thought about my zombie apocalypse plan quite a bit, and given my current home situation, the people I know, and the resources I can obtain, I can prepare for a zombie situation with more of a head start than many.

I split my time between my mom and dad, and my mom lives out in Scott County on the outskirts of Sadieville (hell of a drive to school). We own about 25 acres of property, which is mostly woods. If I am there when the zombie outbreak begins, then the preparation process for my own survival is significantly easier. If I am with my dad or somewhere else, either of which is almost certainly more crowded and/or urban, then my chances of survival drop significantly, and will have to find my way to my mom's house as quickly as possible. Either way, my plan begins with being in our cabin in the middle of the back country.

My stepdad is a police officer for the city of Georgetown and is the person I trust to have the most survival knowledge. With his manpower, wit, and gun skills, he would likely be our leader and possibly a group leader should we merge with other groups of survivors.

As for food, we would clearly want to stockpile as much food as possible as quickly as possible from the city if that were possible. Depending on where the outbreak begins, food will be difficult to find in these areas due to everybody having the exact same idea and, of course, zombies. However, I do live on 25+ acres of property, which our neighbors actually use for hunting when deer are in season. We could hunt deer and smaller animals on our property and nearby for a sustainable source of food, considering we are able to first collect the appropriate weaponry. We also have some streams and lakes for fresh water, and we could also collect rainwater. The lakes also contain fish, but that supply would likely not last long. We could also possibly turn some of our acres into farming land should the need and resources arise.

Defense is likely the strongest element of my plan. Our house is quite isolated - about 8 miles of winding country road separate us from the nearest major road. Should any wandering zombies somehow find our base (depending on the type of zombies they are, they could perhaps track us, but it'd still be difficult to detect anything), we have 25 acres of forest to gather wood from, as well as the possibility to get barbed wire and other fencing materials from the city before isolation is 100% necessary. My stepdad is also a crack shot with guns - he owns (very legally) quite a few, and would likely be motivated to obtain more should an apocalypse arise. He could also properly teach my mom and brother to use them properly. We already have lots of fencing material and tools with which to build things, given our several little projects we've already done around the place.

Should we ever have to leave our base in the woods, I've watched videos on this subject, and the best place to move is the area in Canada where the Great Lakes are because population is low, the likelihood of spreading a zombie virus is low (due to climate reasons), and there is lots of farmable land.

I certainly did not find everything done in class to be effective. A majority of the work done was quite effective though. For example I fou...
