Assignment 11 - Oliver writes a whole lot about Eli

I sit next to Eli Flomenhoft in 1st period (Charlie's technically my table partner, but I know way more about Eli, and he's easier to write about). We don't know each other particularly well, but we have our fair share of shared experiences.

Eli seems like a pretty interesting guy. We, of course, both go to the Academy and have had several classes together, and we also both went to TCMS, so we've known of each other for a while. We also get grouped together occasionally for homeroom and other random events because of our close last names (although, while typing this, I realize everybody else will have a similar alphabetical relation to their table partner). But we have spent some time, voluntarily, outside of school together - we both run cross country. Neither of us are the fastest (we both run JV) but Eli is far and beyond the more powerful athlete. I remember distinctly one day we were running a long run; that particular day we were running the same half-mile-ish loop four times. I had decided to keep with Eli that day, because I knew he'd give me one heck of a workout. So we ran, me either a foot or so behind or by his side, and he pushed my limits simply be running with him. We exchanged brief conversation during the run. He pushed head of me around halfway through the final loop. When I got back, he was talking to a fellow runner about how slow he thought was going. Not exactly flattering for me, but I thought it was funny, and had a good time and workout.

Eli is very charismatic, and seems to easily make friends or just conversation with just about anybody about anything relevant. His low voice and aloof manner as well as his towering physique (to little 5'4" me, anyway) and impressive hair also help his social standings for sure. He often cracks jokes with me and others and doesn't seem to genuinely dislike any person. He seems to enjoy my company enough in AP Lang and will complain to me about assignments or harmlessly make fun of whatever video game I'm playing.

I could see Eli as a moose. Tough and adaptable, but approachable, and pretty placid and calm. As for a color, what comes to mind is a dark purple. Cool and calm, but solid. In five years, Eli will probably have graduated from a prestigious college, pursuing a prestigious career with some prestigious degree. I feel like what he wants to do has been brought up to me at some point, but I cannot remember it now. Probably something in medicine seems to fit him and his superior intellect (from what I know, his grades are outstanding, and with little effort from him).

I certainly did not find everything done in class to be effective. A majority of the work done was quite effective though. For example I fou...
