I’m excited for college and ready to meet new faces. I hope my roommate is a good person that I can get along with. But the important thing that I need to do is to “sell” myself in order to make that person feel comfortable with me as a roommate. I’m a little shy, but I feel like starting off strongly and being honest would be a good “selling point”. By talking about where I’m from, my family, my sports and hobbies, I hope I can be able to make conversation with my roommate and foster a great friendship. This not only goes for a roommate, but also any other new people I’ll meet. I just need to overcome this barrier of shyness and be open about myself and hopefully I’ll become friends with some really great people.
It will be hard letting go of the life and the people that I have grown to know here, but it will be nice to expand on what I already have for myself and enable myself to grow as a person in the process.
