I have two thanksgivings one with my mom and one with my dad. Normally we go up to Michigan with my mom to see my grandparents but this year we stayed in town. So we had both thanksgivings on the same day. My dad's was in the morning and was at my dad's parent's house. I used to not eat much turkey so my grandmother would make me bacon so I could have some meat too. This has continued up to the modern day even though I have since found an appetite for turkey. At night I had thanksgiving with my mom. This was unusual as we are normally in Michigan. We however had it our neighbors house, who we are very close to. This was fun and I got more bacon, as well as turkey and all in all it was a very nice thanksgiving.
So my family traditions are split in two half with my mom and half with my dad. Usually we go up to Michigan for thanksgiving this means that we have to have thanksgiving with my dad either before or after normal thanksgiving. When we do have thanksgiving with my dad my grandmother always makes bacon because when I was really young I refused to eat turkey, but we had bacon so my grandmother made me some, and it stuck. It was also particularly fitting this year as I had thanksgiving with my dad in the morning this year.
