Assignment 19- Ryan Sperry's Advice
Moms are often looked at for advice, as they should be. Typically the advice I receive from my mom consists of a different form of advice, know as scolding. She often scolds me about my academics whether it be grades or missing assignments, but she told me something that caught me off guard one day. While my mom and I had been discussing why I shouldn't be working as much as I do she told me that during high school and much of my early life, one of the benefits is not having to worry about a job because I will have a job for the rest of my life and I should enjoy my time as a high schooler while I can. This advice resonated with me as she is the last person I expected to tell me to enjoy myself rather than work more. It made sense too! Its best not to work so much during high school and spend more time just on academics and enjoying yourself, because most everyone will have to work everyday for the rest of their life after college. The advice changed my perspective on my life and made me realize that I am only going to be in high school once, best to enjoy it.
