Aaron Moseley Assignment 21
Throughout my life, I haven't had to face many challenges. I was born into a middle class family, went to a good school, never had any trouble succeeding academically. But, this past fall, I attempted the most challenging thing I've had to overcome. I had participated in marching band both my freshman and sophomore years, so I thought I had everything pretty much down and I could do it my junior and senior year to show colleges that I can commit to something and also to have fun. But, the two previous years when I had done it, I had carried a smaller instrument. But, for my junior year, they needed a person to play tenors (a set of five drums latched together), so I practiced on that and signed up. At that point I didn't realize exactly how much they weighed (about 40 pounds) and I didn't know how much it would suck to carry them. Wearing them for about 4 hours at a time was almost unbearable, but I got through it and became stronger both physically and mentally as a result.
