When I was younger, I decided to watch the Jimmy V Award show which is based on the Jimmy V foundation and gives awards to people who inspire those around them every day. This is the first time I had really witnessed a Craig Sager suit, it was black with blue designs with a black shirt and blue tie. Craig Sager was a sportscaster for ESPN who usually handled NBA interviews, but he wore outrageous suits every day. He also happened to be fighting cancer, and for this reason, he was receiving an award for his bravery and efforts. During his speech, one line spoke to me and I have kept it in my phone since :
"If I've learned anything through all of this, it's that each and every day is a canvas waiting to be painted - an opportunity for love, for fun, for living, and for learning."
This quote is what I go to when I'm down, when a sad moment strikes, because it reminds me to live each and every day and make of it how I please. It shows that there is no certain future for your life, and I am able to decide for myself how I want to further myself each and every day.
