I do not believe I am the perfect fit for one college or another, nor will a specific college be the perfect fit for me. I do know what type of college I want to attend. It's one that provides a liberal arts education, has a decent sized city around it, and a decent sized student population. But this doesn't mean I know exactly which college is right for me.
On another note, I feel liberal arts colleges, like the top schools in the nation, might be a good fit for me. This is because they offer an education that allows one to explore the world and its truths. It doesn't just make sure that their students learn whats required, instead there are meaningful conversations about our world and everything around us. Furthermore I feel that the competition that high tier colleges bring is a perfect fit for my personality. It will motivate me to study more and be more involved. Rather than burn out from the immense work load and stress that comes with such prestigious institutions.
It is important to address that there are many parts about me that are not unique. Especially when in reference to applying to Ivy Leagues. I am a white, upper-middle class, privileged male. I am one of many white men who will apply to the Ivy's. But what I think makes me different is diversity I seek and the activities I participate in. I am a cellist. For almost a decade I have been playing. And I continue to strive to better myself. This is dedication. I take Mandarin at the University of Kentucky. I am willing to forge my own path. In taking Mandarin I had to do almost all the work in correspondence with the Professors and scheduling the class. I also participate in the community through helping my Temple or working at a lab at Uk or playing at nursing homes. These are a few of the reasons I find myself to be a good fit for an Ivy League. I am dedicated, independent, and involved in my community.
