Assignment 23 - Michael Sellers

1. Imagine by John Lennon - The inaugural song on the playlist is probably his most famous song. and John Lennon was probably the most famous Beatle. John Lennon's messages in his songs have resonated in the hearts of the many baby boomers living at the time; advocating for peace.

2. Octopus's Garden by Ringo Starr - Ringo was the drummer of the Beatles. They only recorded 2 of his original songs during the duration of the bands existence, and this was one of them. The hypnotic style and nonsensical lyrics grips the listeners attention. However, this song was technically made by the Beatles, so it would be cheating to put this song on the playlist. But Ringo's solo work fails to capture my attention.

3. Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey by Paul McCartney - Mind-blowing; Go listen to it.

4. I Live For You by George Harrison - George Harrison was definitely the most spiritual out of all the Beatles. He's also my favorite Beatle. The mellow tone of the song as well as the choir singing in the background reflect his spiritual and gospel-like nature well. He's the last Beatle, as an individual, to be on the playlist because you have to save the best for last!

5. Real Love by The Beatles - Technically a Lennon song. After John Lennon's death, the remaining Beatles came together to finish one of John's songs. The Beatles spread the idea of love as one of their last messages as a band, and became sort of a satisfying wrap up of the Beatles together.
