Assignment 26 - Hampton Jefferson
At the beginning of the year when we wrote our first three essays on the first couple days of school, I could tell that I would have to improve greatly to get a 5 on the AP exam. I believe that your teaching style definitely helped me become a better writer and score higher on all three of the essays. I think that writing more is the best way to become a better writer. However, after taking the AP exam, there are some things I wish you had done differently. One of those is that I wish we wrote another rhetorical analysis in the second semester, not just looked at one a couple days before the exam. It had been a couple months since I actually wrote one so during the AP exam I felt a little rusty in that area. Another thing I wis you had done differently was to implement the small group grading system more. I felt that it was effective in grading the essays quickly and giving the correct scores. I think that if we were to do one for the rhetorical analysis, it would allow for more participation during the grading period which would help lead to a deeper understanding of the rhetorical analysis. I thought that this class was mostly fun throughout the year, although we had to write a lot of essays, and it also helped me improve my writing greatly which will be very beneficial when I have to write my college application letters.
