Human behavior is one of the most interesting things to me. I love learning about differences in cultures, differences in perceptions, why people think the way they do, why people act in certain ways, mental health issues, and the brain in general. It really excites me, I'm absolutely fascinated by it.
One way I am able to follow this passion is through classes in school. Last year I took AP Psychology, by far my favorite class ever. Every day we learned something new about why people do what they do and what may cause that. We learned about why people may have different tendencies, why some people have mental health issues and some do not, why the brain works and how that varies in each individual. Any topic that I could possibly question, we did. And we learned through that.
Another great tool we have is the internet. On the internet, you can see what anyone thinks and anyone's life story. I frequently research different topics on whatever I want- most recently going on a google deep dive into discrimination. I was able to read scientific studies on people with prejudices (based on race, gender, and sexual identity). I was able to read people's experiences with discrimination. I was able to watch YouTube videos on the topic, from all perspectives. The internet itself is a wide scale display of human behavior, with research about anything and everything.
My perspective has drastically changed through researching different topics, allowing me to understand different groups of people and different perspectives. I plan on pursuing this type of research later in life as well. I want to go to college to study neuroscience and psychology, and I hope to get a career in this field one day.
