Assignment 13 - Lydia Klumb
School. The bane of every child's existence. Sure it helps prepare us for college and jobs, but homework? What's up with that? I propose that students be paid to go to school. It isn't enough incentive to have a stable job and life in the future, no, we need to be rewarded with money from the already low education budget. That way, more kids would stay in school, leading to an increasingly educated population, which would in turn lead to lower crime rates and a better society overall. So what if tax rates increase? We aren't paying them so who cares. Students have to sit in classrooms for about forty hours a week anyway, so school is basically our full time jobs. Plus, if we are payed to attend school, by the time we graduate we just might have enough money to go to college. I don't know about you, but to me the choice is clear: give students their fair share for putting up with the challenges of high school.
