Assignment 19 - Hampton Jefferson
In middle school, I had a teacher who had a sign in her room that said, "Never settle for less than your best". While I didn't realize the importance of these words in middle school, I now realize abiding by them can have a great impact. It's very hard, almost impossible, to go the whole year without studying or really trying in a class and still get good grades. Getting good grades requires doing every homework, studying, and participating in class. Not doing these things means that you are settling and not giving it your best effort. There is a direct correlation between giving it your all and getting good grades which is really what these words are trying to preach. Living life by them means that you aren't content with giving a half-hearted effort and it is how I try to live my life. Giving full effort on tasks such as projects or jobs almost always result in rewards like getting a good grade on the project or getting a promotion. During high school, I have noticed this, and looking back on these words makes me realize why they are so important.
